21 Weeks

We made it to 21 weeks! I can't believe how fast time is going now!

How far along? 21 weeks
How big is baby? This week baby is the size of a pomegranate! I think a banana is bigger (longer) than a pomegranate, but that's ok.
Total weight gain: Fluctuating between 9 and 10 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yep, I think I have a pretty good collection going now.
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep:  I love sleeping. It's so fun. Last night in every dream I had there were Andy's Hot Fries. I am pretty sure those WILL be on the menu today :)

Best moment this week:  Nothing too exciting happened this week. We did get our carseat and stroller in the mail. We decided to go with the Britax Be Ready stroller and the Be Safe carseat. Britax was having a sale buy the stroller and get the carseat (or other eligible product) for free. We couldn't pass that deal up and we were able to get the deal on Amazon so we got the stroller for even cheaper than it was at Buy Buy Baby and BRU! I wouldn't exactly say that was the best moment this week, but it was pretty fun to get our first big baby buy out of the way! I had my monthly appointment on Wednesday and everything went well. I was handed the dreaded glucose test drink, so that's on the agenda for my next appointment in July.
Miss Anything? I'm not missing much this week. I would still love a beer with dinner. I'm making a list of beer that will be on my November beverage list. I've already told Matthew that we're getting a case of Summer Shandy before summer ends to store until November.
Movement: She moves around a lot at night now, right before I go to bed. We actually caught my stomach moving on video which was pretty fun. I think I enjoy that part more than Matthew does though.
Food cravings: Apparently I'm craving Andy's Hot Fries -- See above about my dreams!
Anything making you queasy or sick: NO!
Gender: Baby Girl Dickson!
Labor Signs: Nope!
Symptoms: I'm not having any major symptoms right now. I still get pains in my back when I am in the same position for too long. I also have a constant pulsing in my ear... I asked my doctor about it and she said it could be due to the increased blood flow. It's rather annoying.
Belly Button in or out? Innie -- some days it looks more shallow than others.

Wedding rings on or off? They are still on! They get pretty tight when I'm outside in the heat
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!!
Looking forward to: The 4th of July!! We have lots of fun things planned for Thursday, let's hope the rain holds out! It's a 3 day work week for me this week and I seriously can't wait until Wednesday at 4pm EST. We officially have less than 3 weeks until our next ultrasound. Ok - so it's 20 days away, that's still less than 3 weeks. The countdown is on!!

Don't mind the hair today. It's humid. :)

I can't resist posting a pic of the poodle. Hubs made an appearance in this one too!

20 Weeks!

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant! We are half way there! I can't believe how fast time is going and I think it's only going to go faster from here on out!

How far along? 20 weeks
How big is baby? This week baby is the size of a banana!
Total weight gain: Fluctuating between 9 and 10 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes, how I love them. I really love Heidi Klum's maternity jeans. They seem to be really well made and are super cute!
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep:  Still sleeping well! Loving my pregnancy pillow :)

Best moment this week: Feeling this little one moving a lot this week and making it to the half way point!!
Miss Anything? Not really, I could still go for a beer or two with dinner though.
Movement: She moves a lot, and I love love love it!
Food cravings: Grapes and milk
Anything making you queasy or sick: NO!
Gender: Baby Girl Dickson!
Labor Signs: Nope!
Symptoms: My back hurts if I am one position for too long.
Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Wedding rings on or off? On... I think I might be able to get away with keeping them on the whole time? I'll at least be able to keep my wedding band on, maybe not my engagement ring.
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!!
Looking forward to: We're looking forward to the 4th of July, and to our ultrasound on the 19th. It's weird to think that I'll be about 24 weeks at that point and make me sad that it's still 4 weeks away!!

20 weeks and the bump is getting bigger!!

19 Weeks!

We're so close to being half baked! 1 week to go until the halfway point! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. It seems like ages ago I was at 9 weeks thinking it would take forever to get to 19 weeks and here we are!

Here's this weeks bumpdate!

How far along? 19 weeks!
How big is baby? My wee one is the size of a mango!
Total weight gain: I'm up 9 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes - Should probably go shopping for some new jeans soon! I'm giving back 2 pair that I borrowed and have only 2 pair of my own! I think if I can get 2 more I should be good because I really only need them for work and cooler nights out. I can wear shorts/dresses after work and on the weekends.
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep:  I just got my pregnancy pillow yesterday in the mail and I love it! It's a little big but the 3 of us (me, hubby, and pillow) all fit comfortably on the bed and we have only a queen size bed. I like this pillow because you're surrounded on both sides and should you decide to turn over in the middle of the night you don't have to bring your pillow with you, it's already there!

Best moment this week: Matt got to feel our little girl kicking! It was so amazing. I mentioned to him earlier in the day that her kicks were getting stronger and that he should be able to feel her soon. We were laying in bed and she gave me a tap that I was pretty sure was strong enough to be felt from the outside so I put my hand on my stomach and sure enough she kicked again! I squealed, which of course Matthew LOVES, and he put his hand on my stomach and got to feel it too!!!
Miss Anything? Not missing anything as of now!
Movement: She moves a lot, and it's getting stronger!
Food cravings: Hmm... No cravings right now
Anything making you queasy or sick: NO!
Gender: Baby Girl Dickson!
Labor Signs: No!
Symptoms: Still pretty emotional and I'm noticing some back pain if I sit for too long.
Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Wedding rings on or off? On and getting tighter while I'm hot/in the sun but still loose any other time.
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy aside from when I'm crying... But I cry over happy things too. Oh, I met some of my friends at the pool today and a mama duck and her 3 baby ducks were in the pool! The mama duck was able to jump out just fine but the babies were stuck in the pool! We kept trying to scoop them out with the net and put the body board against the side of the pool like a ramp but they were so frightened. Talk about breaking my heart. They were frantic and squeaking and it was just devastating. I wanted to jump in and just cuddle them all! Eventually they realized they could jump up onto the top step of the ladder and hop out on their own, it was an amazing and happy moment for that little duck family.
Looking forward to: True Blood tomorrow night, and the 4th of July! I have a 4 day weekend that weekend and I'm very excited about it! I'm also looking forward to 7/19 for our Level 2 ultrasound. I can't wait to see my sweet little baby again!!!

Baby Kicks!

Today I am 18w4d pregnant and felt Sadie kick from the outside for the first time!

I mentioned to Matthew that she was being pretty active tonight (normally I feel her more during the day) and right at that moment she happened to kick pretty hard. I put my hand on my tummy and pushed down a little and felt her kick again!! I gasped (Matthew hates it when I do this) and immediately grabbed his hand and put it on my tummy. A few seconds later she gave a few hard taps!!

I'm so excited he finally got to experience this!!!!! I hoped it would be soon but thought it would be closer to 22 weeks or so that he would get to start feeling her moving!

I also announced that we're having a little lady on Facebook today with this picture:

I think it's pretty cute. Would you believe it took me nearly an hour and a half to add that bow to the picture? Photoshop is not easy to use when you've had no training!!

Off to wait for more baby kicks (and await these storms we're supposed to get).

Hello emotional roller coaster!

I thought I would share my crazy emotions over the past 24 hours because it's kind of funny.

Last night we went to dinner for my MIL and SIL's birthdays, it was great! We hung out with all of our favorite people,  there was no reason for me to be upset about anything.

When we got home around 10 I had to park like 6 or 7 spots away from where I normally park. We live in an apartment complex and apparently all of my neighbors decided they all needed 2 cars and since I got home so late my normal spot wasn't available. This isn't a big deal, right? Wrong. I slammed my door and cried the whole 20 feet to my door.

Next, I realized that my cable box wasn't working properly and my all time favorite show RHONJ wasn't recording. I took a few deep breaths and remembered that Bravo was likely to show it again immediately after the first showing so I went to go record the next showing. But then the remote wasn't working or the box wasn't working... something wasn't working and the channel guide was just frozen on the screen. Bring on some more tears. Matthew had gotten home at this point and calmly said, "Babe it's not that big of a deal, right? I can just reset the box and record the next showing." Well that's not the right thing to say to a pregnant lady who has already been upset twice within 5 minutes.

So I stomped upstairs and went to get ready for bed. I climb in to bed and roll over to take my prenatal vitamin and half a Unisom (for morning sickness). Well I couldn't find anymore Unisom and remembered earlier in the day that I was going to go to the store to get some more but forgot. So then I cried more. Matt came upstairs and asked why I was upset so I told him that I didn't have anymore Unisom. He's so cute, he said he would go to the store and get me some more. But THEN I found one, hiding right in front of my eyes!! So then I felt stupid. :)

After a good nights sleep I thought today would be a much better day but it was still super emotional. I went to lunch and since I didn't pack I ordered a sandwich from the cafeteria. I asked the cook if I could have a pickle spear and she gave me THREE!! Cue the tears (happy ones this time). Luckily i held those in until I stepped away from the counter so Nancy wouldn't think I was crazy.

While driving home from work I had a random thought that my house could be on fire (really I thought that Matt could have possibly left in the middle of cooking dinner and burned the house down) and that Teddy could be burning inside the house. Obviously any SANE person would be upset at this thought but this just sent me over the edge. I was crying when I got home (there was no fire by the way). Matt of course has to be home and asked what was wrong... I didn't want him to hate me for me imagining he could have burnt our house down so I just said I missed Teddy really bad. Then I immediately felt bad for saying I missed Teddy and not him. Luckily a few cuddles with my puppy and a kiss from my husband made me feel better.

To me this is just crazy. I'm a crazy person! I hope all of this emotional stuff goes away or eases up. For now though I leave you with a photo of my perfectly not charred dog.

18 Weeks and a bump pic... FINALLY!

This week has been rather uneventful non baby related but I get a 3 day weekend and those are always fantastic. I never want it to end!

We did go to a wedding last Saturday at the Ohio State House and the bride was absolutely beautiful! They also had Brutus come out and dance for about an hour which was an awesome surprise for the guests!!

How far along? I am 18 weeks today!
How big is baby? My baby girl is the size of a sweet potato :)
Total weight gain: Still 8 lbs. Whew.
Maternity clothes? Yes!!
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep:  Wonderful. I am feeling super tired when I get up in the mornings though.
Best moment this week: We had our anatomy scan yesterday! This little one is still a girl :) The u/s tech asked if we wanted to know what we were having and we told her that we are thinking it's a girl and she said, "Well... why do you think that??!?!?" which made me think she knew something we didn't but she did confirm we're having a baby girl!
Miss Anything? Nope, not today!
Movement: This little one is moving around as we speak! She also would not hold still for our anatomy scan!
Food cravings: Funnel cake. That just came on today! Oh, and tomatoes and cucumbers.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully, no.
Gender: Baby Girl Dickson!
Labor Signs: No!
Symptoms: Exhaustion seems to be back in full force. Even more so than it was in first tri, or maybe I was just so nauseous in first tri that I didn't notice being exhausted. Still super emotional, and I've been noticing my back aches a little if I stay in one position for too long.
Belly Button in or out? Innie, I'm scared that it may not be that way for long though.

Wedding rings on or off? On and loose!
Happy or Moody most of the time:  So happy!
Looking forward to: Enjoying the summer! I hope to get some good pool time in in the next few weeks. We do also have another Level 2 u/s on 7/19 (see below for deets), and I'm really looking forward to Matthew being able to feel Sadie moving around. I think it should be anytime now!!

At our anatomy scan yesterday the tech said that Sadie's kidney's are dilated. She said they normally see this in baby boys, but not so much in baby girls. She did reassure us that they are still within the normally range though. Also, when the doctor came in to talk to us she told us that Sadie has a cyst on her brain called a Choroid Plexus Cyst. She said she is not at all concerned about this and it's not affecting our baby's growth/development in anyway. These types of cysts form from trapped fluid and are considered "soft signs" or markers for chromosomal abnormalities. The doctor is not concerned about this in our baby because all of our other testing (AFP, NT scan and bloodwork) have all come back absolutely normal so she doesn't see any reason to be concerned. We'll go back in 6 weeks just to check everything out. I was NOT planning on mentioning this to anyone because our doctor made it seem like it was not a big deal and even said that there is a 99.99% chance that everything is fine but I'm doing an update and want to include everything.

The tech also said that Sadie's legs are measuring a week ahead so we're thinking Sadie might be tall like her papa (he's 6'5")! And she told us that little miss is probably weighing in at about 8 ounces!! I didn't really think anything of this at the time, but today I was reading one of my pregnancy apps that baby should be about 5.25oz. Now I'm slightly worried that I'll have a 12 pound baby! Hehe... just kidding... kind of :)

18 week bump pic
Each and every day I get more and more excited to hold my little girl!! 154 (ish) days and counting!

Maternity clothes? Absolutely!
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: Awesome! I've been getting up less and less during the night to pee!
Best moment this week: I've been feeling more movement which has been awesome! She moves a lot during the day when I'm at work and then it slows down at night.
Miss Anything? Nope!
Movement: Yes! I wish she would move around all day every day!
Food cravings: Still just grapes
Anything making you queasy or sick: No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gender: Baby Girl Dickson!
